Yep prices for new bikes are crazy... As long as folks pay the prices will remain high, wonder how many will be bought on pcp like cars today folks hide the true cost in minimal payments...

What did you think anyway compared to your ktm990adv

I'd been eyeing up one of these as a doitall bike, but was a bit disappointed by the price. 10k seemed more in the ballpark. Did look very high spec on the ktm stand at the bikeshow though!

£9000 for the honda 450 L (plus a few grand on top to "adventurise")
£12000 for the 790 adventure
£18000 for a bmw 1250 rallye

I know there will be discounts etc but still big money to go riding in mud with some mates - Probably opening a can of worms, but are they really any more fun/capable/useable/reliable than a 3 grand ktm 950/wr450/dr650/250 rally etc?

Having found my £4k Himalayan such a good ride this year I do wonder where it ends for bike price rises. In a way I didn't think the KTM was that badly priced given that a Tiger 800 and F850GS can easily set you back the same but when you take a further step back they all seem a bit on the steep side, and to me PCP doesn't work well for a bike you want to use and abuse. They'll keep going until no bugger buys any.

That's a silly amount for a Chinese bike...on the bright side, that must mean my old 950 is going up in value now...

Blimey .... I thought the 790 was the "starter", priced to sell!
The parallel twin was, allegedly, cheaper to produce than the "proper" V-twin

I cannot justify £12,000 however wonderful it is. I guess i will be sticking with my Suzuki DRZ400s.

Guess I will just have to keep patching up and bridging the old 950 for a wee bit longer.

Like 7-10 years or until me numbers come up or my number's up
