Re: Go Big and Ride Small
sounds like a really fantastic bike ... would be a very handy guy to have follow me on me 250 when im touring off road abroad so you can help me when it breaks ... theres pleanty of places where a 250 can be pretty dam heavy too ... steep track fallen trees ect so it would ne handy for that too ... save me having to turn it around on me knee againgbags wrote: ↑Wed Dec 26, 2018 12:55 am I’ve heard Vince Austin say that no-one ever wished they had a heavier bike but I had a different idea the other day.
c roads and although the size of my big bike was daunting at first, now I love it. It’s been called ‘a whale’ and ‘an elephant’ by blokes on smaller bikes but I’ve come to think of it as a warhorse. Unbreakable, strong, indomitable, ready to take on anything.
personally i think austin vince has got it spot on
..hey but what does he know .
whats the wether forcast ..wheres me map

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Taking the big step today and selling my Himalayan. That leaves me with three sub 125cc bikes.....
Will I miss an occasional blast of speed - definitely!
Will I enjoy seeing more scenery - absolutely!
Will I love saving a shed load on petrol and road tax - yep.
Hardest thing will be saying to fellow bikers what I own and them asking when I’ll get a real bike

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I keep looking to downsize from my present 1200cc bikes but the only thing that grabs my attention when scrolling through the internet are ...... a couple of different 1200cc bikes .
Most of our riding was touring Europe with luggage and camping gear but now we are looking at flying out on package deals and renting locally to other destinations, for us it's become more about meeting people and enjoying different cultures which can be difficult with full face ninja gear and riding to a list of must see places.
Our UK riding is once a month to Sunday breakfast club and one or two long weekend's a year where we avoid motorways and most roads are a 50mph limit .
Good luck with the downsizing and keep the photo's coming

I totally understand were you're coming from regards riding smaller bikes, excellent..!! I'd love the likes of a Suzuki VanVan 125cc for getting about on.........or a Suzuki Burgman 400cc scooter.
Great post godspeed.

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Just got back from a proper test of my CBF125. I rode from Bristol up to Abergavenny then took the heads of valley road to Touratech. Didn’t buy anything as it seemed crazy prices then headed over the mountain to Llandovery then onto Builth Wells and back to Brecon via the ranges. Across to Monmouth and home.
212 miles in total. Max speed 67mph (downhill).
Bike is just gently sipping fuel returning 144mpg. Estimated range from 13 litre tank is about 400 miles!!!
Still enjoying it

I rode around the same area a few years back with a friend on his Brazilian CG125 (I think). He didn't fill the bike the entire weekend & was still half full at the end. It had a slightly larger than standard (Brazilian) tank but frankly 500 miles between fills is insane It wasn't slow eitherGodspeed wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2019 4:19 pm Just got back from a proper test of my CBF125.
