End of last week I got home from 1409 miles from Bristol up to Scotland, touring around the area and then heading back down on my CBF125.
Ok, there wasn’t any fast overtakes but instead miles and miles of great scenery, limited fill ups (bike was getting 144mpg so a tank range of about 400 miles on 13 litres) and a wide grin.
Long live the small bike

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Loving this thread. I used to have a gs800f and now own a crf250l. I love how light it is and it can sit on 70mph all day when required. I am going overland to Cape Town next year and went for a light bike on purpose. I don't know if I would go any lower but I'm hearing the people in the know are saying that 250 is the new 1000!!!

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I'm currently lusting after a Suzuki 400/650 Burgman big scooter as a second bike.
I rode my V-Strom DL1000 a lovely 100 mile ride today and thought I could do that easily on a big scooter instead.

Consider a Vespa 300 GTS. Still looks like a proper scooter (unlike the swollen burgmans), bodywork made of steel rather than than plastic, and it's cool.
