CVT copes surprisingly well on mild trails and is surprisingly good on hill starts on loose ground, k60 tyres fitted but a real trailing, my crf 230 on full nobbies is better for heavy going. Yo also have to watch mud and water can quickly destroy the drive belt as the housing are not water tight for cooling.

No, not yet. It’s almost three months waiting time for one at the moment, and the used ones are more expensive than new!! Crazy situation
I’m really looking forward to having it, I’ve got a wedding in Scotland to ride to and then hopefully in May use it to get to Romania and back….
We shall see

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Yeh, it’s easy really, just program the satnav to avoid motorways. I ended up riding 2 x 2500 mile trips around Europe on my 125 without using much motorway at all.
To be fair a 125 on a motorway isn’t that much fun anyway, it reduces your mpg and isn’t that much quicker if your max speed is only 55mph
I did accidentally get on an autobahn on my 125 in Germany, that was crazy

Thank you. I tried that setting once. It took me directly to the highway afterwards.
just asking because I don't want to pay avoidable fines.

Yeh I know what you mean, last thing you want is to pay extra when you don’t need to. I saw that video where the sportsbike guys got fined some astronomical amount in Switzerland for speeding….. at least there’s not that much chance of it happening on a 125

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I did Bulgaria and back via Italy and Greece on my WR250R--camping all the way---and road speed was sensibly limited to 60 as I was on knobblies. I managed to avoid all motorways--except Switzerland on return---I had a bad cold and didn't fancy some circuitous navigation here--just wanted to get through it back to France where things were much easier--but I did find a good campground in the middle.

I don't want to use them. But sometimes the satnav insists that there is no other way and not being familiar with the place in question it's difficult to know when it's wrong and try to convince it otherwise.
