My CRF 250 Rally is off today, to someone on here as it happens. It's a shame to see it sitting doing nothing while I'm not able to get out for more that a days ride and I'm glad it's going to someone who'll use it for a proper trip.
Any ho, I thought I get something else for some fun day rides out. With a bit of searching I came up with this, £1950 and 9000 miles from new. I think I did ok, and I still have the Super Cub and C90 for this bit of the forum

Brilliant little bikes. I used one as a run around briefly back in the early 2000s. Enough go for varied road riding (~90bhp) and handles OK. You get nice R6/R1 blue-spot calipers too - proper brakes. Reliable and easy to service (Thundercat-based). Still looks good today I reckon. One of the best choices of £2k road bike you can make IMO. Fit the latest stickiest tyres and you'll be zipping about.Slowboy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 8:11 am My CRF 250 Rally is off today, to someone on here as it happens. There can't be many about with that mileage.

Thanks Dave. I've already added 100 of miles to it since Friday I has Avon Storms on it at the minute and it's reminded me just how good analogue bikes were twenty years ago. I think I'm going to have some fun with itdaveuprite wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 8:24 am

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
If I remember rightly it had a very 'soft' key. In other words it was easy to bend the key in the lock or petrol cap, with the chance of it snapping off in the lock. So maybe get a couple of spares cut before that happens...Slowboy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 11:37 amThanks Dave. Thanks again Dave, I'll do something about that. It still has the originals, one of which looks like it's never been used

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Over half way round of my European tour now. I’m at Combe Laval area and will ride the D76 tomorrow. I’m hoping there’s not too much traffic so I can get some photos.
The lovely Innova is holding up ok at the moment.... so far it’s given me my best mpg at 165!!! After this I’m just plodding across to Bilbao and getting the ferry back home.
Come on Innova, you can do it!

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Some great roads over the past couple of days as I near my destination for the Bilbao to Portsmouth ferry. I must admit I’ve been off the bike for a couple of days, exploring Toulouse and heading for a couple of days in biarritz.
The Combe Laval region was a true adventure. Heading out of St Jean en Royan there was a lot of low lying cloud though fortunately I could see along the balcony section. After that I headed through the forest for a good 30km in what can only be described as pea soup. I could hardly see anything at all so it certainly took the adventure up a notch
Millau was a lovely town, just really relaxing camping by the river. And then onto Toulouse in 30 degree heat.
I must admit to resorting to delivery scooter rider tactics to get through the traffic... if the French don’t hate the English then they will now
