Ah it was this thread where tyres were mentioned! I'll re-post below, but it does look like you have the Maxxis IT already so spot-on for trail riding. But you appear to suggest they "have to go" ? If its for road riding not really my area of expertise, but I have used Bridgestone TW302/1 to good effect if you want something that will cope with gravel tracks and the like, think my last pair came off a CRF250L (=free!). Back one currently on my '93 DR:

Well, tyres eh, what a subject. I have used hundreds as I usually use my mate's s/h ones which don't last very long!

Not impressed with MT21s apart from being a safe road tyre - wear quickly, not so good off-road.

A good rear is an AC10 if you want something properly knobbly that will last a bit. For the front stick to a Bridgestone Gritty or Maxxis IT.

For the rear the Maxxis IT Pro is the best compromise if not out and out racing - cheap, wears reasonably well (but not as good as the AC10), good grip in the mud and predictable on the road. We all use them in my local patch for trail riding.

Mitas E09 rear and 644 army special front--loads of road miles with more than acceptable handling--and pretty good offroad.

Maxxis IT Pro, work well for trail riding, don't frighten you on the road and less than £100 pair.

I tried an MT21 on the front of mine and it never gripped, hated it, but they've been ok on other bikes.

It’s on maxxis I will have to see which ones. I’ve been out today and I’ve got feel of the tyres now and its rides fine a bit choppy at higher speeds.

They do take a little time to adjust, just remember you're on nobblies and keep your riding smooth and definitely keep your distance from other vehicles, your stopping distance will be substantially more.
Me and a mate did a few tests years ago, both on the same bike but he had very road bias tyres on and I had full MX/Enduro tyres (before the FIM approved Enduro tyre days) I stopped nearly twice his distance and he had a drum front brake. The good old days of youthful confidence, we'd just take to the grass or other run off if we met anything coming the other way on narrow back roads, no retrospective thinking we might just have been going to fast :D
