As all adventure bikes are high and heavy for me, in March I decided to buy this bike, a mid sport adventure bike Benelli TRK 502. It comes with crush bars, charger, panniers rack and screen.
Have now 800 miles on the clock, happy with her on the long run, Have not rode her off-road yet.
I love it!

How do you feel about the TRK after a Summer on her?

I have come to find out about the model quite late, mainly from the new 502X which does look interesting. Albeit the 700cc version supposedly on the way looks even better and another 20hp would deal with the HD frame better...!! The higher stance and seat height of the 502 X version is also a useful plus for the taller rider.

£5.5k doesn't break the bank, and the med-term reliability seems to be pretty good by all accounts as the bike has sold like hotcakes around the world for a 2 years now. Sensible mods and improvements from reading the press. Residuals may be an issue which is the one slight worry, but put through the business and depreciate it over 3 years...

I do like the look of the Leoncino with a 19" front, c/w with knobblies on, now that with the greater ground clearance of the TRK 502X would be fun on a gentle green lane... Lighter than the Adv bikes too.

Back in the day a motorcycle was counted as 'plant and machinery' for asset write down purposes and allowable for 100% write down in the first year if you chose to ........ not sure on the current situation.
I too would be interested in any long-term ownership experiences, I visited Cooperb motorcycles towards the end of last year to look at an Enfield Himalayan and was quite taken with the Benelli Leoncini ...... in a beefed up Vanvan kind of way, not enough to buy new but maybe a used one would fit nicely in the back of my van.

Not sure we can write it off quite so quickly (financially), and probably not the best option in my case even then However, calling it a business asset is always nice !

I have been looking around on the feedback on the motor in the Benelli and it all seems pretty positive. Service intervals are quite frequent and as Speedway Motorcycles in Cannock are offering a 5 yr warranty, I specifically called and asked them the cost and timings to hold the warranty. Certainly worth it if someone is not over keen on fettling, but adds several hundred/annum to running costs.

His main business is renting and guiding off road on KTM's. I just stopped there for a coffee in 2017 and didn't realise there was also a bike business based there. Seemed like a nice guy.
