Jury very much still out on the Honda. Could be excellent; could be a gutless wonder that needs a grand spending on it to release any meaningful horses. I would wait for the ultra-keen first owners to decide that for you.
KTM looks purposeful and is bound to handle well off-road. The idea of it having a rival in an ancient Royal Enfield is laughable. They won't be on the same page.
Personally I would take a good hard look at one of these:

A minimum of work (change gearing, bigger tank) and you have a decent distance off-road tourer. And much cheaper than the Honda is likely to be.

Hasn't the BMW been out for at least 6 months? Certainly been long enough for Rally Raid to design a complete rebuild kit
I personally wouldn't rely on that website for cutting edge, you can rely on me journalism

With enough profanity, you can accomplish anything

The two bikes are like chalk and cheese, the KTM is a road-biased adventure bike, the Honda is motocross derived dual-sport.
Current bike is a Yamaha T7

Can I throw a curve ball in. My brother has the little 390 supermoto type bike. He loves it, thinks it’s amazing,
Why not stick longer travel forks on and better wind resistance possibly bigger wheel on the front. Hell of a little off-roader for the people who want to have fun but take it easy too
