VT500

What were they thinking? Sad state of affairs with a price tag to match. Oh dear.

Yes, hilarious isn't it? There are so many of these shite sled crap track café hipster bobs being bastardised optimistically by people who should not be let near a spanner. Often based on bikes that were disliked or just plain bad back in the 80s and 90s. Many flick through their glossy coffee table editions of 'Built' magazine and think that they too can transform an appalling old GS450 pumpkin into a cool carriage, and then ask £5k for their ghastly chimera.

It's a fad and it'll pass I reckon.

Unfortunately, in the process of all this, lots of people are wrecking future classics.

Vile...it looks like a parody.

Meanwhile

I had one of those back in the day...unburstable motor, front brake that didn't ever work, shocks that exploded and pumped what smelled like bad cod-liver oil over the back tyre (with the benefit of hindsight, probably made from dead whales) , and a funny seat with tiny little dimples in the cover which would fill with water and never dry out...ensuring that you never left your waterproofs behind as you would always have a damp arse.

Mine was in a horrible shade of green...made even more horrible by the black panels and incontinence pad on the petrol tank.
