I will be riding one as soon as I get the chance and it will be in direct comparison to the F8GS.

I'll add my thoughts to this thread after I get the ride, but I am biased - I'm on my 3rd F8GS - so to sway me, the 850 would have to be REALLY SPECIAL.

Looks ace by the way, specially in the black.
...new 850 is a lot better especially the engine it pulls like a train and sounds great with that v-twin sound...
But it's not a v-twin ;)

Just had my front wheel replaced on my f8gsa and had arranged to have the 850 while it was in
So here is what I think ugly to look at dash is nice and bright and you can scroll through and see what your tyre pressure is lol but the tank is small in comparison to the gsa making the back of the bike look so much slimmer

The bike I had also had the Akki on it nice tone

Although the paperwork States it has 10 brake more than the gsa it cranked in really well and the gear assist was so cool

Going to overtake you can just open the throttle and tap it into the next gear I didn’t experience jerking with this and it just worked so no roll off clutch gear change and the roll on it was just roll on and stay rolled on awesome 👏

In all it handled about the same as the gsa and I could feel the difference of power when I go my bike back

But my bike is set up how I like it and to me to move to an 850 would be a downgrade as the bolt on goodies just arnt there and they are only selling plastic panniers for it this is all just my P/O on the 850 and will as an outcome to that stick with my F8gsa

I think BMW have taken a step backwards on the looks department on this one. Mainly i think on the exhaust - looks like an after thought.
Maybe the 850GSA (if there will be one) will look better.

Thanks but no thanks. I won't be ditching my 701 for one of these. The new accessories on it may be nice, but who knows on quality. I know my bmw the quality was poor, the paint was thin - it came off the frame with 700 miles on the clock and BMW customer service was non existent...

First and last bmw was my f800.

There's a review of it on this month's Adventure Bike TV for those who are interested.

Has anyone actually seen one in a showroom?
I went in Pidcocks, Long Eaton on Wednesday and Alan Jeffries, Rotherham today and there were none to be seen, the chap in Rotherham said something about a recall, but wouldn’t elaborate.
