You can see it behind the tank, I had some people say it negates water crossings as it’s lower than the stock but only by about an inch or 2.

At 19 ltrs I should have 200+ miles now

Great stuff. The more I read about it, the more I think that the 701 is maybe the holy grail of longer distance proper off-road capable adv biking.

But what is its unladen air speed velocity ?

Hi cone nice to meet you on the TET today, the bike looked awesome! We cut a further section of the route out after sliding about in the Rioja vineyard area, and getting drenched it was just to much for the big girls!!!!! Plus all of us had leaking fork seals! And we’re knackered, So we will be pushing on towards the Bardenas Reales desert tomorrow! Hope you made it through ok 👍

I've read this post from the beginning, the 701 really excites me and I love what your doing with it. Makes me want to do the same.
Bikes always have bad points, if you were going touring with two blokes on GSs... Then yes it would be a Norse however if you were going touring with someone on a CCM 450 then it would be fine because your both in a similar boat.

Can I ask what you've spent on it so far?

Hey Cone,

Looking good! Did you manage to test it out for mileage yet? Did you get the 200?

Thanks

Lol no!

The sun comes out and the missus wants to go camping. But I’m confident it is as I get 140+ from less than the 13.9 ltr existing tanks.

But now my Montana has arrived I’ll be ready to go exploring!
