Well I test rode a second hand one today, even more tempted now!
That motor is very smooth and has plenty of power, didn't get chance to try it on a motorway or dual carriageway but it seemed about the same if not slightly better for wind as an EXC. Never noticed any problems with the seat, I'd just spent 2.5 hrs on a KTM 1050 so my bum was a bit numb anyway. Very tempted by it and enough cheaper than a new one that I'd not be crying at the first scratches.

So mildly impressed i did 15.6 litres on 216 miles.

With a 13.9 and 5.9ltr tank i have a total capacity of 19.8ltrs

on that consumption im getting 13.85 miles/ltr therefore I had a remaining 58.17 Miles in the tank.... Total range of trail/roads 274 Miles

Think i've got a cracking adventure machine here!

Don't you love how us Brits mix it up with imperial and metric!!

Hey Cone,

Had any chance to prove out the distance yet on the extra tank?

Well, as said above.

I'm currently commuting on my bike, I refilled yesterday at 193 miles and had only used 13.34l meaning I had a remaining 6.46 ltrs.

I'm fairly sure that id get 250miles plus if I ran it dry - but I haven't tried yet!

Yes, price is favourable but am considering it as well as the 690 tanks for max distance, just need to figure out if all 3 will fit

Bike had first proper day out today, It's not all new and shiny any more :)
and what a jewel the Plains are, just the place for a bike like this, Still need to sort out the high speed compression damping which gave me a bit of a hard time on the fast square edged stuff but really enjoying this bike, had a great day

Is there much difference between the 2016 model and 2017 model? Been looking for something similar to either the 690 or 701 but don’t really wanna spend more than 6k so the 2017 701 is out of range but found a few 65/16 plate ones in my price range

I think the 2017 on has the newer Duke motor with a different rocker arraingment and a balance shaft in the head, looks like a twin cam from the outside as the chain goes over 2 sprockets.
I think the rest is pretty much the same.

I found quite a few enduros up to 2016 model and struggled to find a 2017 model, i didnt want a new enduro it cries pounds each time it gets dropped.. eventually i found a2017, £1.5k cheaper than the new 2018 model.

The engine is euro5 compliant, the 2016 and older is euto4 compliant, does anyone actually care? Probably not, but when it comes to selling time, i thought it might make a difference in commanding value return.
