A pic of both orange beasts before I decide to part with the 990. Been a great bike, but no point in having them both.

Always a reason to keep both! One for the dirt and one for the road, simples! Then you need another for holidays two up, one for shopping, one for posing, one for track days and a spare for anything else surely? Or is it just me who tries this excuse?

Only ridden the 1190 for about 50 miles, and it's a rocket - power/torque everywhere, much more so than the 990. It's also much smoother with better fuelling. Brakes are way better, as you'd expect.Enduro boy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2018 5:01 pm What's your verdict on the new one then ? How does it compare to the 990 ?.
I've ironed out all the niggles with the 990, ie Oberon slave cyl, new fuel pump, changed to a smoother map, softer throttle cam etc, etc and it's a great bike...one of the best handling bikes I've ever owned. Goes round corners like it's on rails.
I came onto a bit of money at the start of the year, and it was the only way I'd be able to get a new bike, so bought the 1190. Early days, but I think I'm going to like it.
