Post by Mikekitts81 »

Don't no if it's just me but I feel the 2018 graphics and colours are much better than the older models

I like the new colours. But I'm pi55ed off there's no 300. I'm very near pulling the trigger on one but i want a 300.

Iam the same I decided not to because I want something a little more punchy . Iam over 20 stone and 6ft 3 and iam not saying the engine won't move me around as it will but I just want more power and more torque to get me up hills and we're I want it to go with ease ..... I don't think they will make a 300 version though but saying that kawasaki have made a 300 versy and 300 adventure bikes seem to be coming in .

I went for the red one and was almost disappointed I didn't wait but in fairness I'm not keen on the new colours either. I'll cross fingers that someone starts making black plastics for it.
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Yes, I'm the same build - so I think 24hp is going to struggle. I have looked at the Versys 300, but I can't get a test ride on one - my local dealer expects me to buy it without! I'm too lazy to put the 500 engine in, but that's what i'd really like (like everyone else). I think they'll make the 300 when they've milked the 250 sales dry.

I don't think they'll make it to be fair . I think if they make any it will be a bigger 450 or 500 as the 300 isn't much of a leap reading a lot of minkyheads posts it's a lot better on road holding speeds etc but I still wouldn't want the 300 . With what minkyheads said it sounds a lot better in 300 but I think the crf 500 which was built in another post would be better for me. but I wouldnt want to do all the work I liked the build and the bike turned out great shame Honda don't make there own. As I think a crf rally 500 would be a big seller as the post got loads of interest .

Looks good, like said 300-500 whilst keeping the weight to 150kgs mark , that would be a sure winner

Looks like a middle weight is years away.

We are just lets say thinking about it... doesn't that mean there toying with the idea suppose that doesn't mean it will be a good idea in between 250 and 1000 to them would more than likely be something like the big red pig the xr650r and this was discontinued as it didn't sell aswell as they wanted so they made a more road oriented version. The xr650l but again that didn't last long ... will they make a decision to do a more off road version. Again like the big red pig the xr650r I think if they do it will be an animal of a bike but it just wont sell aswell just like the xr650r didn't so personally I think they would go lower cc .now personally I think a cb500x adventure engine would go great in a tiny body like the crf rally 250 . And would sell more as smaller bikes are bought more for technical stuff and a lot of people don't like big 650s for technical stuff ... I think the 500 would just be little enough to not be intimidating and still be good enough for both technical and long easy trails and roads.
