just go up one spring weight on the front, job done. You cant expect it to handle the same with more weight on the front, but not compensate for it.

It's finally got to the time were I see if the theroy I read online will work I have had the forks a while been waiting on parts bearings etc while doing a few other bits and bobs and I got to say I've been a little sceptical whether they were gonna fit and work aswell as they put online but the tapered bearings kit come from all balls racing and the cups when straight in a treat :) bottom one was the hardest to get in think it was just the thickness of the powder coat on the frame rubber mallet though and in it went

I have noticed though my garage floor is getting all wet due to leaking in so that's going to have to get sorted along the way aswell ....

Decide to spray the yokes with a acid 8 primer and it has held great couldn't decide whether to go with a chrome paint and then candy apple or anodised red colour but in the end decided on black the thought behind it was that the bike is gonna be a rally bike used for off road so black is easier to touch up and sort back out were as the red I like as I really like the look of the ccm gp450 rs colour scheme but it didn't seem logical to me so black was the way forward

Well I most say iam a happy bunny got my all balls bearings through the post and the paint in black as just gone the 48 hrs hardening process so it was the time of truth I've been wondering for weeks whether or not the yokes were gou g to fit this build and wondering whether I'd wasted the money but I gotta say they were a great fit a 3 mm spacer was needed from simply bearings and everything else fit a treat

my only down fall is the nut that sits under the top yoke is a c spanner nut that someone as smashed a good few times with a hammer and screwdriver by looks of it and I've searched high and low over then Internet and can't find it anywhere eBay sells the top nut but not the one underneath everywhere I have been and looked shows the peice but doesn't have it in stock so iam a bit lost on finding one at minute the only ones I found were second hand and just seemed the same battered and mangled ....

Just a note of caution on the All Balls bearing kits, they use cheap bearings. I've got their oversize bearing kit in the rear wheel of my 450 EXC Rally Bike (and in the spare rear wheel), they don't last long at all.

The answer was to measure the bearings and seals and order decent replacements from www.simplybearings.co.uk I'm now using SKF bearings.

Good luck with the build and hope to see you at some rallies next year

Iam hoping to be there ..I did think that myself about the bearings and have looked at sold bearings as that's were I got my 3mm spacers from they did do a better inclosed bearing that was already protected by rubbers at 30/40 quid per tapered bearing and the ones I already had in wereuch thicker and better than the ones I have just replaced them with but iam gonna put it all back together and then hopefully just run it for a few hundred miles and tighten back up once the have bedded in I no a lot of people's haven't lasted long from what I have read online but all bearings need to bed in first and find there place so iam hoping that's why they haven't lasted long. I still have a front wheel brakes and few other components to sort and source as of yet but if it's not ready for this year then it should be more than ready for the year after but my plans are for this year if possible ...even if I have to source another bike to try it out that could be a possibility there's a lot of cheap enduro out there at the minute for beer money ... I did have a generous offer to try out a cagiva elfant on another group he said it needed a front wheel and just tinkering with but would have been will to let any member take it out on the rally as long as they didn't take the piss with it and ditch it to no use for anyone ...

A Cagiva Elephant that just needs a front wheel!

That'll be Lee's then

Not really the ideal bike for rallying, i'd stick with the MZ if I were you ;)

There's a reason most of us ride orange (having started rallying on an old skool CCM)

Possibly. it was on the rallymoto forum can't rember his name though... my choice was really decide with the mz has I already had it and have been using it for green laming and the t.e.t anyway and I feel comfy on it in all situations I've been in ... I did do Thai boxing kickboxing etc at a competition level before starting the build and riding but things changed and was looking for something else to take up my time as my last 2 fights I went blind and the doctors can't put there finger on it so I feel rallyin will be my new thing to keep at and spend my money on while keeping me entertained... with out the aspect of being punched in the head and going blind lol ...

Well it's near Christmas and I should really be thinking about Christmas but I managed to find myself another front end the same for 200 notes and it's a full one :) so I just had to buy I don't think it was a bad deal spare forks front wheel calipers brakes clutch yokes plastics etc

now I can try it out before all my suspension is redone and anodised etc .. And I'll have a set of spare forks yokes etc which will come in handy also my levers will now be wr /yzf levers so no problem. Anymore with trying to find mz spares as I can get packs of 3 levers for cheap enough for the yz levers just need to source an ebc oversized disc and bracket to try to compensate for the braking while on road hope it will be a compromise and at least be 50/50 if not better on the road ...

Good buy Mike, you're much better off with a full front end, it will save you a lot of headaches
