XL600V

Post by qcnr »

Is dead.
Didn't quite make it home yesterday, so had to mount a recovery operation. On the second to last hill before
getting home the bike just spluttered, backfired and died completely. No sign of electrical life what so ever.
It's home in the garage now so autopsy begins tonight.
76000km, just glad I hadn't ordered a new back tyre already... :(

First off check your battery terminals and where the earth lead grounds out.

The starter solenoid packed up on my XL650. Likely the same component.
