Although price is tight, I would recommend you get something with an electric start. Being a beginner and having to kick a big single every stall or off is not fun.
Not that I did it, but If I was starting now but with what I know, I would buy something simple for a year and then sort out what you need by more than guesswork so treat this first bike as a taster.
An aquaintance is on the seriously large side but still belted around on a Freeride so size and cc aren't everything. Also, get something you can get parts for in decent time - a huge advantage in buying a KTM.
It's all about control, not power.

I'm thinking of selling my Berg. It's a 61 plate FE390. Mature rider and only been used on the lanes. 1750 miles. Also has Rekluse clutch and just had a full service and fork seals.

Looking for £3450
