A review of the CRF250 Rally.

Re: A review of the CRF250 Rally.
Morning everyone,
Bought my Rally about 6 weeks ago and have put 1200 mile on it o far. I have a question, is anybody using a tank bag with theirs, and if so which one?
Looks as though it may be a difficult fit with the plastic leg shrouds.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Re: A review of the CRF250 Rally.
I'm about to pull the trigger on a CRF250 Rally as a replacement for my much missed KTM 690R (I have no illusions about relative performance!) It'll be used by a fat old man (me) for wobbling around country roads and easy lanes on sunny days. My hardcore enduro days are behind me...
I do however like fiddling and I'm a sucker for bolt-on bits. Things I plan to add immediately are obvious stuff such as bars that aren't made of cheese, bashplate, exhaust and maybe one of those electronic tuner thingies. My question is, which aftermarket parts for the L will fit the Rally? I know the bashplate and FMF pipe won't fit without removing the lower shrouds for example, but what about the other running gear? Also I seem to remember reading somewhere that the header diameter on the 2017s is larger than previous years. Can anyone confirm this?
Apologies for all the dumb-ass questions. I know our friends on the other side of the Atlantic are mad for all this but I find that "other" site annoying to wade through if I'm honest.

Re: A review of the CRF250 Rally.
pretty much all the parts fit
skid plate
handlebars
all levers up and below
rear racks
sprockets
risers
there are two exhausts out now that i know of two bros and yoshimura
the header is much larger at the joint than the old 250l
a 250gpr 250l exhaust can be joined too it with little fuss
the ejk i wouldnt bother on the rally the feuling is perfect low and high ..its unstallable ...ish ..and the gas milage is very very good i average 75mpg and i let it rev
what wont fit is lowering links as the rally has a much longer stroke in the suspension so id be carful there as it may still lever the likage at the bottom of the links movment ..id wait on that
ractech spring upgrades ditto 1.5 inches more travel ..i made my own for the front
personally id get rid of the lowers they aint much good for anything and will scratch to hell even if you dont drop it ..prevents fitting adecent belly pan too
ive just finished mine just need to fit some anti rub clear stuff to the tank and top panels where me knee pads sctratch away at it ..fitted some decent tyres today B) and its first off road meet is due next weekend in brecon ..i think it will do a good job
very vey good motorcycle it sounds like it will fit your bill very well ..

A review of the CRF250 Rally.
Mikes might not feel like a normal SE minky! It's been specially un serviced.
But ditto his sentiments, having a go on the rally might just be enough to get me to this meet.
