Thanks for all the kind comments, they certainly help keep me motivated to get this build finished and get out riding.
I updated the ADVrider thread after some work last weekend but to good news is that the bike is up and running, here is the (very nervous) first start up:

great moment for you ...starts runs ..and sound well ..always a relief with a doner engine when you know it doesnt sound like a bag of spanners great job ..

I'll be honest, I was crapping myself when I pressed the button - unknown engine, my wiring, parts from many bikes. I was amazed (and hugely relieved) when it fired up and ran so smoothly. Dependable Honda B)

this is a great effort and if it is as light as you say AND you have at least 20 people interested maybe Rally Raid or someone should get scouring the breakers for cb500 engines. keep posting your progress.

Great work. There is something very satisfying about spending weeks and months building a bike to finally hit the start button and hear it kick into life (thumbs)
