Re: Ktm 990 Adv first impressions.....
Used bike sales are starting to pick up now with the warmer weather.
I think we are also starting to see the realisation that the 9X0 Adventure offers something which you can't really get in the new bike market any more...mostly, its incredibly well thought out: designed around the rider. Even stuff which I thought was a bit useless, like the glovebox, is actually very useful.
The only downside is it's a bit time-consuming having to strip all the tanks etc off to work on the engine: and they can be a real pain to get back on again, especially if they've been left off for a while because they actually change shape slightly.
I keep thinking I should sell mine...but what could replace it. The obvious alternatives (yam tenere, BM F800 GS) are fine machines no doubt and almost certainly less costly to run, but they are even heavier than the KTM.
I really liked the look of the Tenere: I was there in a Yamaha dealership when they uncrated the first one they had in, and the guy said to me...go on, wheel it across the showroom.
I couldn't not believe how heavy it was, and how high the weight was.
So...what could/would be better ... bear in mind that I don't want a bike with a mini computer screen and 'options' to 'scroll through'...I just want to get on and ride?

Richard, don't let Mike get you into NC's just because he is a great fan :pinch: (thumbs)
and yes the platform is the same as the scooter.
but the more mature gentleman motorcyclist (not you of course) may appreciate its virtues.
the NC750X may be nice?
but tarmac only, is my guess, for it.
people seem to like the Honda 500X (wotever its called)
