Re: Ducati Multistrada 950
I don't know if it's still the case, but Ducati cam belts used to be the same as those used on Renault cars. Ducati owners in the know used to buy them for about £30 from car parts factors. I hasten to add that these were proper Gates belts...ie OEM fitment.
Re: Ducati Multistrada 950
It certainly looks nice. I asked the Ducati guys at the NEC bike show 2 years ago whether they would make a smaller Multi but they were very non=committal.
You can get a KTM1190 brand new for under 11 grand as they are no longer in the range. Haven't seen a 1090 or the new 1290 at the local dealers yet either.

That's what I fitted on my 1100s¡ exactly the same part as from Ducati but a fraction of the price. Extremely easy to fit not sure if the new one is as easy.Richard Simpson wrote:I don't know if it's still the case, but Ducati cam belts used to be the same as those used on Renault cars. Re: Ducati Multistrada 950
Personally if I had 11-12k to spend on a new bike now I would probably snap up one of the last KTM1190. They have been around for a few years and have proved pretty reliable, go like stink and weight wise I think theres only about 10kg difference between the 2.
