Should I have?

I replaced the air filter as it was due, air intake seemed fine, engine certainly wasn't overheating or running excessively hot, coolant bang on (I changed that, as well as tyres, brake pads, chain / sprocket, brake fluid etc). I was prepping for a 2000 mile, 10 day trip

I did that service myself, so pretty sure the filter went on right. Had a friend round that used to race enduro for KTM to help, he even made me soak it first & then lean the bike either side before sealing the casing.

If he's messed it up, I'm saying nothing. He once broke his neck & just kept on riding

I think it says more about middle aged men & their perception of off roading, it looks easy on youtube

There have been a few issues, usually on heavily modded bikes. Until I had this issue the bike was 100% reliable, rain or shine. It's my daily hack, try it and see what you think

there have been a few cam chain tensioner issues but usually at higher mileages. I believe there is a fix for it in the US. The oil filter is easy to put in the wrong way thus starving the engine of oil and leading to seizure but that's a human error thing. Also the 4 bolts on the oil filter cap are easy to shear so get a couple of spares. not many electrical problems I have read about on other forums that I read. the subframes can crack if you have to much luggage, but that can be fixed with a bit of welding.
