I am really fancying the Montessa Cota 4ride .. looked at one in Merthyr the other day .. but the payments are not too helpful, as I have nothing now to part ex

anyone got one to sell and is willing to take a direct debit ?? over say 2 or 3 years?

are you offering Johnnyboxer ? .. or are you saying that that is the going rate? … what would your 4ride be worth?

Its a lot of money for not a lot of Bike

that's why I am attracted to one … not a lot of bike to the tune of 85kg

I understand the attraction Gary, realistically its a trailer to the trail type of bike though which I thought was not your focus.
I have an old WR250F I use for that sort of thing and did consider going for something like a KTM freeride but when I weighed up the actual advantages they where minimal and didnt warrant the extra 2-3 grand just to lose a few kilos so the WR stays.
just my take on it, but I buy my bikes outright and can't quite get my head around this get in debt leasing stuff I can't afford thing that seems the norm these days

perhaps I am just daydreaming Asgard,
I sold my trailer as I could not handle loading it, and got in a mess trying to reverse it
My Mitzi van was actually an mpv and too good to dump a muddy bike in .. and then it rusted away
So atm (as well as my road bike) i have just a little fiesta and an Emtb and a rear rack, which i am happy with atm, but miss the mid wales trails.
Long term i am thinking van with small trail bike .. but just cant afford it atm , especially outright.

but I can wait … after all I am an oap and plenty of time left



I tried the `ride do-it-all bike to the trail` thing, but it just got too gruelling, 90 miles there, 15 mile trail. 90 back at 45-50 mph.
That was with the 250. but I had a 750 road bike as well.
I also tried the real `one bike do it all` with my TTR600 .. it was a great bike but it just got too vibey, after several mechanics tried to `fix` it and it was moved on

It seems that every time I move a bike on i lose £1000 or so

this is me, or rather the crf250L, stuck in just a 6" -deep narrow rut on wbin, on my own on a boiling day, miles from civilisation, .. the low engine well stuck on the sides of a narrow rut.
I kept ploughing through but eventually stopped, which meant a long backwards out or a long forward out.
Could have just tipped it over .. but heck... it was a new bike

eventually I put it all back to std .. and could appreciate just why trail bikes have a high engine height
