Triumph 800xc

Hi, looking at the 800xc 11plate will be used for touring mostly 2up don't do camping don't do off road reason looking at the xc as it has better suspension ( comfort) it looks light easy to handle ( have to give in to age some time) any one got/had one thoughts / input !! P.s. I don't like the bmw equivalent (thumbs)

I've got an XC, had it from new. Handles nice two up when the suspension is set properly. Loads of power for an 800cc bike.
Pain in the arse to service though. Remove 90% of the plastics and tank and airbox just to get to the plugs. I do all my own servicing, Triumph haven't touched it and charge too much and probably wouldn't do half the job. It really does need keeping on top of though, don't believe the service interval guide, I do mine 1000 miles before what the book says.
Buy the DealerTool http://dealertoolcouk.ipage.com/default.htm for your diagnostics, about a tenth of the cost of the Triumph one, and well worth it.

Hi, thanks for the input B/B &viince will give it test and yes fully able to do the spanner work myself ( 46 year in the motor trade unfortunately) might try the crossrunner as well as I like the v4 engine although it's down side is the more sports riding position which I have to get away from, thanks again

I have had a 800xc and px it for a crossrunner had it 3 months that was about as much as I could take of it.tiger is far better.I only sold mine because it had 43000 miles on it but wished l had kept it.I ride a s10 now which I really like.ride the tiger you will love it.cheers Tony.

+1 for the tiger, had mine from new, coming up 5 years now.
Done everything on it, solo and two up camping weekends,
Massive mile days in this country and once in Europe, it's so
Comfy, chased and kept up with the sports bikes on the Sunday
Blast. And some greenlanes.

Buy one, u won't regret it. (thumbs)

if only for touring use, no off-road etc then I would not buy a bike with tubed wheels.
Especially for 2up. But that's me.

For what you need the KTM 1050 is a better machine, and better value.

I got one a few weeks ago as something to replace my recently sold Vstrom 650 and 660 Tenere. It was a toss between the 800gs and the Tiger 800. I'm more than happy with the Tiger as a good all rounder.
Suzuki DL650 (Wee) with many nice mods ..

Yamaha XT660Z Tenere also modded ..
