I test rode the NC in thinking it could take over the duties of my Versys 650 but I found it boring and more like a white good than a bike. However with the "frunk" and the fuel economy I would have one to commute on if it was an option.

I had a Honda PC800 in the US--the Pacific Coast--so faired in you couldn't see anything but smooth plastic including the front disc etc (and NO visible external fasteners--to peel it you started with the clip in side vents). That 800 cc V twin was twin spark and a 3 valver--and like a turbine---air came in through the rad, between the engine and the fully insulated and encapsulating engine cowling UNDER the plastics , and out through a hole in front of the rear wheel--sooooo quiet!. It had different shocks left to right--and would cruise flat out all day at about 90 mph (done it--and got stopped by a Virginia State trooper!)---but to the point---the rear seat and side pod tops were all one and lifted up revealing a full trunk in which you could easily drop two large bags of shopping--and mine had the radio option stored in the corner of the trunk with the controls on the handlebar--those were the 80s!!

PC800's awesome......I love exciting bikes but I also love the option of them being practical. Even if you do necessarily get both those attributes at the same time.

one doesn't exclude the other.
It does if we're talking about a honda NC700.

Thanks for the PC 800 pic-brought back memories---when I picked it up secondhand it had never seen rain--it was raining--guy was heartbroken! I outran a HD "tractor" near Milwaukee with an indicated 105 on the clock--and being a Brit and used to curves it was one of the fastest bikes on our trips down from Springfield , Illinois down to Arkansas--I was in the Springfield Milers (after the famous mile oval flat track--even seen Nicky Hayden ride flat track before he really got into Moto GP).
