KTM 990 Dakar V KTM 1050

Post by Loggy »

Went into the local KTM dealer the other day and they have a Blue 30th Anniversary Dakar 990 for sale with just under 10,000mls on a 11 plate. Next to it was a 15 plate 1050 Adv "very low mileage" bike for the SAME money. A few bikes along was a KTM 1190 Adv, 13 plate, one owner, 13,000mls for Β£500 more...

Why are the 990's still worth so much money??? Are these 990's that good?

Last of the good KTM's (IMO).

Depends what you use your bike for, if it's pure roadwork then the 1050 is a bargain at the moment.

I've just bought a fairly low mileage 950, to me they are the best of the KTM's.

Didn't you just sell one?
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

That looks a sweet bike... The one for sale has heated grips, full luggage and racks, Talon foot rests, Akrapovic exhausts, frame protectors and full service history... It doesn't come with engine guards though, are these optional as I thought they were standard? How long have you had yours for Steve? Are they reliable? Cost of maintenance, easy to work on etc??

No , but I rode a standard 1190 when they first came out, 950 is a better bike for me.
