Honda Africa Twin or Triumph Tiger 800 XCX?
I just wondered which bike people prefer the look of and why. I'm about to buy one of them but i can't quite make up my mind as too which one, i love the rugged look of the Tiger, but i like the colour schemes and the dash of the Honda. Choices choices.....

If you intend to use off rd,then the AT would be better. It has received good reviews. But as a rd bike,I would choose the new 1050,assuming you want to go the Triumph route? Unless you really want the 800?

If little or no offroad, get the triumph, no brainer tbh. The honda was designed as a 70% offroad machine and you'll need stiffer fork springs and shock etc for fast road riding so figure on another 150 quid.

On looks - The Triumph (I own the first incarnation of the Tiger 800xc)- Its looks are nicely understated and, in my opinion, relatively classy compared to the Honda.
I know that motorcycles are often regarded as 'boys toys' but that is exactly what the Honda reminds me of; One of those plastic toy bikes that small boys play with.
But then, I am a 62 year old git who doesn't approve of brown shoes!

Having recently had an 800 xc I would go for the Honda, the build quality of the made in Thailand triumph was shite,i am not against triumph's as I still have a speed triple but the big difference is it was made here.

Call me 'old fashioned'but I'm dead against Triumphs made in Malaysia, Brazil etc. OK if their for sale in those markets? All my Triumphs were made in the UK. And with the exception of some paint peeling off the engine, the build quality is excellent. Yeah I know its financial..cheap labour, maximise profits etc, etc. But if that is an issue for you, check where the bike is made? I think the bigger engined bikes are still made in Hinckley?
