Dreaming of a multistrada or ktm 1290 sd gt..... but realistically i will stick with the ktm smt, wr250x and may get a mkII versys 650 to keep the miles off my smt, but i feel it may make the smt redundant

Re: And Your Next Bike Will Be..........
For the first time in years I find myself in the fortunate position of not desiring a new bike.
I have my recently acquired '04 R1200GS everyday and big trip bike, my 1981 R80g/s which is fun and can also do the miles. For trails and trials I have my Beta Alp 4.0.
I also have access to my Dad's Dot 1955 trials bike.
I can't think of anything else I'd want or swap for.

Well, one things for sure, any future bikes won't be brand spanking new! Got to the stage where I'm going backwards in time and really enjoying it. I find that all these new electronic aids/complications just turns me off, I want to be able to work on anything that needs it, it's a good way to know your bike and bond with it.
Over the decades of bike ownership I've come to realise that no one bike will do it all, hence my solution of having multiple older bikes. XT Serow for playing in the dirt, VX800 for road trips & missus, XF for scratching/adventuring and an old Ducati bevel for those heightened nostalgic moments.
No regrets so far!

Currently a 2004 F650GS which got me back into biking after around 30 odd years and has been great - but now thinking about an F800GS. Just wondering about the height though as the 650 has got me used to feet on the ground, the 800 is a bit of stretch!
Re: And Your Next Bike Will Be..........
I'am thinking about trading my 1200gs lc (2013) in for a Triumph 800 XRX smaller lighter
as I am getting on for retirement.
would like to hear some comments on the 800 if anybody has one.
