Yes it's the later double articulated Paralever type & a lot more fragile than the early Mono's. hmy:

Standard 100GS paralever but I'm suprised the rear brake works with the cable/lever arranged like that. The blue. and white one stuck in the mud has an 1100 GS swinging arm fitted which is supposed to be stronger and has a disc brake.

Thanks boys (thumbs) I really would like to own one of these but this just highlights my short fall in knowledge. When I get some more time it could be a steep leaning curve but fun

I think I've seen this one shortly after it lost it's sump on some welsh rocks.
The area looked like the "Torrey Canyon" had passed through!

Garry's bike is a very trick example, the construction of the special subframe to encompass the vertical shock, is a work of art in itself (thumbs)

great to see these bikes ............i have got some great ideas to build a rear subframe tank system on one ,plus alot more ,just need a donor bike

I had a look at an R80 G/S (not for sale) last night and it's a fair amount of work to bring one up to anything like what I desire, I think it will be easier to work harder and longer and buy one ready to ride as I have enough projects.[/quote]

I'm not so sure I'd meet the contractual stipulations regarding maintenance and cleaning schedules.
That and yours is to nice to start modifying.
