I think the biggest thing affecting CCM sales is lack of dealers around the country.
At best 110 bikes in 2015. Say an average of £9,000 each, that's £990,000 turnover. Its an awful amount of R&D, parts sourcing, promotion and workshop time for such a small return. Hats off to them (thumbs)
Pretty standard - good going in fact - for the a product life cycle which is about the average for a given product's 'End of Sales' , aka, life expectation. Which for a bike I guess is about seven years, i.e. half way between a mobile phone and a car

They know this!! I asked about servicing and whether the mobile van was still being offered and was told that CCM are trying to sort out Dealers. I pointed out that the existing 2 were of no use to anyone in the West Midlands...! ;)

Apparantly some BMW dealers will service the engine! Possibly not a bad call in many ways with that motor and it is a premium priced product!! (thumbs)

It just goes show if they can sell around 30 bikes in a week then people obviously like it. They just cant find the time to travel and view it. (thumbs)

A genuine question...what's the difficulty in appointing dealers?

I'd guess that the military supply side of the business supports the 450 while sales grow and that side of the business develops so they can afford to make steady progress rather than being forced to do things for a short term boost.

A genuine wild guess - about 30% ...

Its probably because they are not making enough profit per bike to to allow any profit for the dealers.

That's depressing. No wonder their extra farkles are so much...
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Pah! You are far too busy to go, look, and play with bikes! ;)

I would go up in the week in winter, if it was in a vehicle...

I'll give you a shout
OK, pick a Tuesday that you are free and we'll contact CCM and book a couple of bikes for a test ride? ;)

I see that there are 40 CCM GP450's registerd in the UK. I thought there might be a few more...
40? Jeez I thought there would be hundreds. Price drop should help that. Is there a waiting list? Are there hundreds abroad? The optional extra list is crazily overpriced too.
I did a comparison on the CCM, RRCB500 and BMW 650s and 700s and finally enough if you buy the bike new, there is not much difference in the price if you look at a comparable spec. (Wire wheels for the Honda and up graded suspension for the BMWs)
What CCM give you is low weight, low height and even with the lowered version and extra 10cms ground clearance compared to the Honda and retains a 21" front wheel. Sounds like lightweight fun to me. CCM are happy to play mix and match with the spec of the bike.

I spoke to ccm at the NEC 3 years ago ,regarding being a service partner for the bikes, they virtually laughed me off the stand, saying the bikes would be sold in BMW showrooms nationwide,
Earlier this year I emailed them, again offering to become a service partner ,they didn't seem interested .
I feel sure there are some customers that would appreciate a Midlands based factory trained workshop,
But what do I know
