Reg/rec problems, but it's an easy fix, and so many bikes have the same issue, it's not a good reason not to buy one.

I have an 8 year old Daytona 955i and other than that it's been bulletproof.

It did have a broken speedo magnet but that was a hamfisted tyre fitter no fault of the bike, but it was an expensive fix as you can't buy the magnet separately. I don't know if the Tiger would have the same issue as it's an analogue speedo, so I suspect it'll be cable driven.

It's got a digital odometer so it will still have a magnetic sensor. There are people who can make replacement magnets if needed on Triumph forums.I've had two 955's,the first one had 65k when I sold it and my present one's at 20k.I haven't had any mechanical problems, just the odd broken wire.

I've had a broken wire too, from battery to ignition, forgot about that. Again very cheap fix to replace the connectors that are exposed to the weather.

Is it ever going to go off-road? The reason I ask...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/triumph-sprin ... 419d7c184b

Half the mileage, 3 years newer.

or this one

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triumph-SPRIN ... 25ad657753

Looks very clean, under 9000 miles, but you'd need to budget for Givi luggage.

Anything you can slap an "Adventure Bike" label on is fetching silly money.

This looks like a bargain in that price bracket

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-XL-1000 ... 2a5837336e

But again if you don't go for an "Adventure Bike" then suddenly your looking 6 years newer in the same price bracket
