Hi lads today I spent my day in the garage ,drying my tent cleaning all my camping gear after 3 weeks away in the Scottish highlands.no prob there . Next I spend hours cleaning my Moto ,now my prob ,I end up under the engine cleaning the it with an old tooth brush. Hae lads do I have to seek therapy???? help please Al :whistle: :whistle: :whistle:

Why?
Many years ago an old hand at bikes described to me what a toothbrush clean was really about.
It wasn't about cleaning the bike, although that was usually the end result. It was about the close up inspection of everything on the bike, a chance to check for cracks, leaks, loose fixings, etc etc etc.
Last year I was doing exactly that, having replaced a front tyre, head bearings, redone brakes etc etc. Then gone to France. A month later doing this same toothbrush clean I found one of the front axle bolts out about 6mm. These had been checked and rechecked and found to be good. But finding it backed out like that really emphasised the fact that on occasion you should make a very thorough examination and what better way to do it.

Nice to know that some people clean the under side as well as the top side of their bikes. This is normal behaviour. Using a tooth brush? Hmmm.
