Post by greyhoundgriff »

Evening
Just a quick one, what's the 'real' mpg for a 990 adv & tank range?
Still got a want on.
Cheers

Yeh I would say 180 miles to a tank is well achievable
I ran mine to 200 miles one day and it still never ran out ... 140 per tank full is only about 33 mpg I would say I get 43/45 most days even with luggage ...

My fuel light would come on my 990r around 130 with a fully loaded bike. Regulary pushed on to 150 but never untill she ran dry.

You should go for an 800 gs if your looking for good fuel economy Ktm 950/990's are really just for the elite bit of a animal not really for people with restricted wrist movement what you use on fuel you save on front tyre's ...

As said before if fuel consumption and tank range is important to you then don't go for a 990. However if you want smiles per miles then it's KTM all the way.

I have a 950 and if I ride at normal road speeds I get the same mpg as the 1200gs....and 200 miles per tank is more than enough for anybody's arse.

As above, I've had as low as 33mpg on my daily commute of all town work and I've had up to 51mpg on a run up over Skye 2 up. Usually about 40-45mpg.
