I get the feeling it's a case of forbidden fruit syndrome and good looks driving interest in this bike.
Well you're right about the KTM/Husky having better support.

The AJP would seem to be far more than just it's looks though, it performs too

https://www.ajpmotos.com/en/2017/07/24/ ... ajp-pr7-2/

It also comes with rally fairing and 17 litre tank which the ktm/husky don't. It also has the well regarded and reliable old husky te630 motor, not everyone is too impressed with the ktm/husky 690/701 motor as it appears to have had it's share of reliability issues

Can't find any details on price here in europe, not cheap obviuosly.

Choice is nice. :)

Sachs suspension is used on Beta RR enduro range, hardly falls into budget/ poor quality so don't know why you think that.

Every Sachs fork I've had wore out the bushes really quickly, poor QC, though the last set was on a 2009 gasgas, perhaps they have improved, they were the budget choice and never of the quality of a Showa/kyb setup, quite possibly I am living in the past.

I suppose the extra tankage counts for something, but an extra 4 litres isnt a massive difference

You are right but then as you said it comes with the fairing and also the extra fuel capacity, no idea experience with Sachs suspension but then I'm used to the 03/04 WP KTM forks which have a reputation for being the worst years.
I've also looked at the Husky 701 and I like it so given a choice of the 2 at the same price range I'd probably go for the Husky.

it exists

http://motoajp.com/enduros/models-features/pr-7/

Looks good but sadly just doesn't appear to be available in europe at the moment, ironically for a portuguese machine...
It is available in Europe. For sale in France for €10490. Unfortunately none of the remaining Uk dealers have taken any into stock but they could if they wanted to.
When we visited the AJP factory last October they were making as many as they could, way more than their other models, but most were destined for Australia where they have really taken off.
There is a guy with a small fleet running tours in Portugal so I guess if anyone was really interested in getting one that would be the best way to try before you buy.
Biker B&B and trail riding centre in the Limousin, France.

Is this the place: Bobs Bikes. UNIT 13, Keith Hall Road AB51 3UA, Inverurie 01467 623297?

Don't have an AJP and didn't know that there's a bike shop there.

Much closer to the River Don than the Dee
The Northern branch...? :D

Or try:

Unit Zone 1, Deeside Industrial Estate, 5 Drome Rd, Deeside CH5 2NY

The first AJP PR7 in the UK was on display at the Torque Racing open day last Saturday.

They are expecting to have a demo bike very soon.
