Welp, tried, tested and doesn't work. Just can't quite get the clutch to disengage with everything set to max. Possibly with a shorter cable or deeper bars but that's too much effort for this little experiment

Next idea then.....

Cousin sorted the DR, new trigger coil with lower ohm reading and it starts n runs properly again.

Well I made some progress on the headlight and screen swap on mine, enough to make it useable until I move house at least

So far I've fitted:
Cheap Chinese Sachs knock-off headlights
Cheap ish Chinese s7 led bulbs
R1 standard screen
Garmin Montana powered mount that isn't wired in yet

I've still got to:
Swap the Speedo
Refit the heated grips
Wore in the Garmin mount
Wore in my aux power supply relay thingy
Fit the cut down cb500x screen to the top of the R1 screen for road work.
Rework the front mount for the screen.

But for now its usable, the lights are 'kin bright and I can see the GPS for once. Oh and I think it looks better

I wonder if someone can help me please, I remember a post from a couple of years back that was addressed to PhilinFrance reference doing the TAT (Trans America Train) on a DR 650 but I can’t find it anymore (sorry I had stared it but it’s no longer in my list, well the hole
list has gone, it’s been a while), anyone remember where the link or post is please? I have a friend going over this year that is looking to ride it,

Got the screen extension on now, I'm away on it for 4 days for a wee your around Wales with the Mrs and being an engineer I've left it to the last minute to make sure its all ok

It does look better in the flesh and should offer plenty of wind protection.

I'll have a look through and get the links to the lights and bulbs after.
