It'll certainly do for now, waiting to mov house so along with the other bikes it'll have to wait to be finished properly until then unfortunately. But it runs and it rides so I'm happy

I also knocked up some ghetto hand guard extensions with black tape as the weather is meant to be crap this week

Love that, Hatter. Neat job. Maybe you could just keep adding tape and build it up over the top of the bike and form a roof ?

I like the idea, Phil, but how exactly do they work? They take weight off your legs I guess? Do they not dig in to your upper calves?

I'm interested in anything that could tackle the leg cramps I get after most hard days out.

@ Dave digging in !!! thats the reason i lowered them for the Sidi boots , now they're fine .

The idea is that as up accelerate or hill climb your boots catch on the rubber discs taking the arm strain away , haven't tried them in anger properly yet but what mittle i have they do help, not sure if they'll help with cramps

@ BOL , try mine when you're over , you never know 8-)

So after some time spent on an 800GS I've managed to round up a DRZ400 which I'm liking a whole heap!

Have only had it for a couple of weeks, made a few mods so far, with a few more to come, but my initial impression is that it may well end up being my only bike - it seems to have enough legs for the kind of riding I do on road (it'll happily bowl along at 70) and is a whole lot easier to manage off road.

I also like the fact that it's of a similar level of sophistication to me (ie not very sophisticated at all) so it's a) less likely to go wrong in the first place and b) more likely to be something I can fix myself if it does.

I'm planning to ride it down to the ABR festival this weekend so if it works for that without causing me any pain the Beemer may well be up for sale!
