Re: what have you done to your bike today??
This morning I fitted a new front tyre to my CRF Rally. K60
I think I've finally got the hang of changing tyres. I'm not sure what I'm doing differently but its much quicker and I don't pinch the tube any more.
Top tip for CRF owners, before you put the wheel back on run the axle through the forks to get a feel for what you need to do. I could not get the axle through the wheel, thinking it wasn't lining up on the far fork I wiggled and wiggled. Turned out it was the shoulder on the axle hitting the first fork...
Anyway new rubber ready for the Great Western Trail if it ever stops bloody raining...
Cheers

Started cleaning the rust off my crash bars with an angle grinder.
The wire brush attachment was quite effective, however I kept wincing and swearing as what I thought were flakes of paint pelting my face (I wore safety glasses!).
I gave up after 20 mins when a large flake hit the inside of my nostril followed by several expletives! I figured it would be easier to get the bars shot blasted and power coated.
Whilst blowing my nose later I felt something sharp.
Turns out it was actually the wire brush strands that were flying off and impaling me. The wife extracted the one inside my nostril with tweezers.
It was imbedded around half an inch!
That made my eyes water!

Bugger all to my bike, apart from find my spare plate after loosing mine somewhere in Wales at the weekend.
But I did finish putting the ceiling in my new van for the quick and dirty camper conversion/bike transport van so hopefully should have somewhere comfy for the Mrs and the dog to sit in at the festival while I bugger off out on the bike
