As i'm somewhat displaced at the mo (tools in storage, bike at girlfriends and i'm living elsewhere, all 3 locations are 60-90 mins apart), i'm having to throw it at the dealer to diagnose and give me a quote for the repair. Its one thing after another.
Not knowing your bike, some 690s had issues with camshaft bearings (it was lubrication to the bearings or rockers or something). If that's all it is it is meant to be an easy fix.

Good luck regardless

Looks like its the conrod & big end bearings, but at 32,000 it may need more when it's opened up. I'll find out next week
Current bike is a Yamaha T7

Recently ordered a new set of front and rear Renthal sprockets for my K8 V-Strom DL1000, for the past eight years I've went up two extra teeth on the rear for improved ooomph, I'd never return to standard gearing again...!

Hoping to fit within next few days.

Well, rather than "what have I done to my bike today?" it's "what have I done FOR my bike today?" and the answer is order new wheel and linkage bearings/kit for trials bike. I am also about to clean the air filter on the exc-f, super exciting stuff :lol: I actually don't mind the smell of NoToil :shock:

Tiger 800
Removed the Garmin mount and wiring.
Removed the Gopro mount.
Removed the Scottoiler.
Removed the Screen deflector.
Quick wash.

Its heading to a new home on Friday, to be replaced by an R1250RS (NOT GS)

It has been good fun but not a keeper.

Greetings,

Having got fed up of stinging nettles bashing my hands this summer I have finally made some extra protection which I hope will also keep my pinkies warmer in the winter months. Blooming arthritis :twisted: The additional guards may not look too pretty but so long as they do the job I don't care.

I bought an A4 sized 3mm sheet of Palight off eBay, excellent service so I am buying another sheet but 5mm thick to make a similar pair for the Beta;

If you look closely you can also see the clutch leverage adapter, seems to help a bit too but the fingers still lock up after a full day's riding :roll:
