As far as I'm concerned bikes are fun to ride and use some fuel that costs some money. If they weren't fun I wouldn't bother even if I was getting 100 mpg.
How many people posting here use a motorbike purely because it's cheaper than a car and enjoyment isn't the biggest factor?

With dual sport bikes that I use for touring, I refuse to accept ones that don't have decent mpg... I just wont buy em.
1000cc plus I expect 50 plus mpg, middleweights of 600 to 800cc I expect 60 plus mpg.

60 70 just not flogging it I have had 82 mpg but that was doing 50 mph boring but kind on the pocket
