Hi Jim,

Congratulations on selling your Vara! Sad to see such a good bike go for sure. I've always had a soft spot for the Vara and might yet get one, but the Jack of all trades Africa Twin is a great bike that I think would be hard to beat!

Agree Loggy mate, I've had a lot of brilliant miles on the Varadero and stand by my comment "it is the best value for money two up tourer on the market".
The Africa Twin is a superb bike, I'm on my sixth one now, over 100k miles on Africa's, just love my old XRV750 RD04.
The VFR1200X Crosstourer is a fine bike! Mind blowing in fact! And I think it's the logical step forward from the Varadero, although very pricey!
That Varadero in white is stunning, enough to turn heads for sure!
Honda, the power of dreams.

I feel you come across as a Honda man,but if your looking along the lines of the Honda NC700X,don't discount the Kawasaki Versys,it's excellent on fuel, mine regularly returns 220 miles from a 19ltr tank.Ive had mine for 3yrs and it's absolute stonker of a wee beastie, take one for a spin if you get the chance, you've nothing to lose.

Its not the bike you ride Jim....its the company you keep. :)

Ride safe my friend.

Thanks for your kind offer but having done some research last night I'm going to go for the E55 Maxima box and some metal panniers. Andy
