Couldn't help playing "spot the parts"
Engine - Smart Car?
Rear wheel and drive - R1150GS?
Swing arm/drive shaft - home made?
Front wheel (and forks) - F800GS or possibly KTM?
Rear light/mudguard - V Strom?
Hand guards - Bark Busters
Anyone spot anything else?

Dry weight is 215 kg. All specs are on their web site: http://www.dieselmotorfiets.nl/Ted99uk wrote:Anyone seen the weight of it?

Re: Adventure "Specials"
That is a lot lighter than I would have expected with a diesel engine.

Re: Adventure "Specials"
That's interesting, so it seems most of the parts are built for it and although the engine is produced by Daimler Benz, it's not the actual Smart engine which has been used in a few specials usually with a grafted on manual gearbox, this one retains the CVT box (not sure i'd like that on a bike).
Suspension is White Power, which is not surprising for a Dutch bike and explains why they look "KTM" which are of course all fitted with WP as KTM own the company.
And if it's got a 600 mile range, I hope the seat is comfy

Re: Adventure "Specials"
I've just looked at the web-site. What a cracking bike. It really deserves to succeed.
I HOPE they have the capital to allow it to grow to meet the demand I am sure it will create, and don't allow it to be taken over by one of the big bike companies when it suffers growing-pains.

Re: Adventure "Specials"
I don't think that, in today's market, £16,000 (or even Euros) is that much to pay for what is essentially a one-off bike. I'm sure that a Hesketh, an Egli Vincent or a Desmosedici would cost a damn site more for similar exclusivity!boxerbmws wrote:16k Euro.............
