Thanks Craig.
Is it me or has the petrol tank suddenly taken on an R1200 shape, I must say I do like it and the beak is there on my bike already.
Food for thought and or a brave pill to take the plunge, ummm?

Thanks mate, I really like how it turned out myself, I'm actually surprised it hasn't been done before.
As for painting, Id assume you would have to wet n dry the area you were spraying. But I've no clue if it would need primer.
However you can get mat black car wrap vinyl worth a thought. ;)

I kind of followed the line of the black off the GS1200 but the shape is all 1150. ;)
I think taking the plunge on a paint job is always a scary thought, but as I've said to Mark there is mat black car wrap you could use as a non permanent effort. ;)

Link to mat black wrap.

Not as nice as Id hoped, but its a hard tank to fit logos on because of the vent/badge area. :(

Just to add my tuppence worth, is the gas tank plastic?
If so you might need a vinyl with a special adhesive, when I tried to sticker up my Acerbis long range tank on my old Dominator, (Honda not Norton) the stickers started bubbling up and the tank went a little gooey to the touch until washed and neutralised, if memory serves me there was a warning on the tank saying something about prohibiting their use, which of course I ignored as I knew better.

Your right Mark, that's why I didn't put to much detail on the tank. As it will need ventilation holes to allow the tank to breath. They also allow you to push any bubbles out as they form.

like this.

It will have to be created using proper motocross vinyl which is thick and strong.

They can be made from around £69 for the tank/shroud.
But I think Alun could get a deal of some kind, involving advertising space in the mag. ;)
