Speedo to read the correct speed.

Post by Dark Knight »

Does anyone know of a device that you could put inline to the speedo so that it would read the correct speed that you are doing?

Simples

Fit a sat nav to the bike.... Ride at 30...50..70...take note of the discrepancy and apply it to your speedo.... Normally 10%.....fords are slightly higher :geek:

Yep, as Helicopter says, it depends a lot on what bike it is. Some more modern ECU/FI type bikes can have a 'speedo healer' fitted to compensate for changed gearing etc. Older cable-driven bikes are completely different, and a Satnav will give you the correct figure - then put stickers on the dial if you need to!

There are gadgets that are normally used to convert km to mile speedo. You can adjust the digital ones to read 100% correctly but it'll throw out the odometer read (which is normally 100% correct).
