wr450f big bore ... 480-500

Post by Mikekitts81 »

so i put my bike up for sale on flea bay and facebook market place gumtree etc etc and had no intrest at all other than a 213 pound offer which i just found cheeky . anyway the bike isnt slow but if iam keeping it iam wandering about doing a conversion with it ... cush drive back wheel and the engine work so iam looking into big bore kits .....

so i guess my question is what will be or not be the benefits from a 480 or 500 big bore kit ... it said that these days the kits are alot more realiable but is it going to be worth the money ... a normal rebuild piston cyclinder etc is around 400 but the rebuild is 680 which is only a couple more but is it worth the exrra few hundred ... will it lug better on trails will it sit happier on the road will i need extra works i.e proting etc for better money spent. will it just be a waste of money and i would have been better of buying some bling instead .?
All things built not bought . The only way is adventure .

Keep it as a 450 but buy a cush hub, comfy seat and save the extra money for fuel job done.... :D

Does a WR450 need any more power? I think my ‘04 was around 60bhp anyway.
Mind you, I was no riding god, more a riding dog. :(
