Battery advice

Post by almar »

Just had new battery delivered (yuasa) filled it with acid , about to charge it as per instructions . question do I leave the yellow bungs out or replace them while the battery is charging. The battery is not on the bike yet. It maybe a simple question but I don't want to destroy it before it goes on !
Thanks

yep .. like wot JB said 8-)
lets the gas out, from charging.

sealed batteries are different, obviously, and I use a different setting on my charger for that.

I tried charging a new gel bike battery once .. and it would not charge.

I put a new car battery on my little fiesta, over a year ago.. and left it stand for a year … guess what? .. it had run down!.. I was so shocked.
anyway, I put it on charge and nothing happened ..doh .. another £60 ?
then tried the `bike battery, sealed type` setting .. and guess what .. it charged up nicely thank you .. and is still on the car today :)
