Oh FFS Tyres!!!!! [ big thumping trail bike]

Post by Asgard »

I know I know.

Just wanted to ask if anyone has tried Dunlop D606 on their 690/701 or any similar large thumper.

My TKC 80'S are worn and even when new they were shiite on wet welsh rocks, the dunlops look to be good but I've never used em

My riding is a mix of Green lanes (currently green rivers), fire roads and of course the evil tarmac bit to get to them

Thank you very much (my best elvis impression)

Well I have a 701 and I use Razor backs from 24 mx. 55 quid a pair great grip and so far I’ve driven from wales to South of Bordeaux green laning here and there and tet, they still have 5-6mm tread on the back super impressed.

Bit sketchy on the road when new thou!

Motoz tyres are getting some good reviews
Have a gander here

Ask Cone (Paul) what he is using on his 701.
Personally I use the MT21 up front and Mitas eo9 rear. The Mitas are similar in tread to the TKC80 but are so much better in all aspects.
Good off road and grip the road well even in wet. Longevity is pretty good

For 55 quid for a pair I thought it’s worth a punt even if there awful. Turns out there actually pretty good

Wow, very impressed with that. I have a pair waiting to go on the Beta. But I thought they would realistically just be another pair of tyres for hooning about on the dirt and replacing 20-30 hours later. If they can really do that kind of mileage on tarmac as well as dirt, that's great. I'll be fitting them prior to our Sort meet in September.

Hi Asgard,

How much are you after for the E09?

I might be interested depending on location (I’m West Yorkshire).

Cheers

No worries.

I might order one anyway now my Michelin Desert is nearly expired.

Oponeo do E09’s delivered for £82.

Can anyone beat that?
