Bar Risers with Offset

Post by Thedktor »

Many years ago I bought these for a DRZ, and I want another pair but it seems they are not available anymore.

(not a DRZ!)

I like them as they are really solid, and not so sure about the pivoting ones for off-road use, seems like a potentially weak design.

Closest I can find is these:

Anyone found anything similar?

I had the (Rok?) pivot ones on my 400EXC and they were really solid but I’m not doing mega jumps, just bimbling trails.

I have had the pivoting ones on pukka enduro bikes and they are fine. In fact I think I have an unused and a used set here if you want to try some cheaply. (you ride past me oft)

Thanks Herman, I may take you up on that. Could you measure/photograph them? No rush, cheers.

Yes, they are an option, my first link seems to be invalid. in fact they might be better for the DR350 as the clocks would need moving otherwise.

The original ones are good as the middle screw goes through the whole lot making it very strong. I have them fitted to my DRZ and the riding position is perfect when stood.

But I may have another DRZ that needs them as well ;)

I had a minor slow speed off on my 690 where I slipped sideways in a rut onto a 1m high grass bank.
The standard bar clamps were fine but the single clamping bolt stretched out and back so far that I couldn’t stand up and ride.
Ruined my Wiltshire weekend away and I bought my FE450.
Not sure if the bolts are designed to do that so they may be more important than the clamps themselves.

They are we have done the same but they don't seem to break just distort.

Thank you Herman for the pictures.

They answer my next question which was regarding bar size - unfortunately I'm still on old money and using 7/8" bars ...

Oh well, I will try the DRC ones for now.
