I did this myself 12 months ago and with the help of the internet and a Haynes manual it went fine. This was not planned as I was only getting the bevel drive sorted.
As long as the bike is not required quickly the I would do it yourself. Lots of help on ukgser and other forums. I got most of the parts from motorworks. I only had to replace 1 seal as the experts say only replace it needed. I did have to buy a number of tools also I only replaced the clutch plate and not the whole carrier.
