I think that the first thing is to confirm whether or not the fork is bent, and if so, where the bend is. I would think that almost any engineering workshop could do that for you.

If something is bent, I would replace that part rather than straightening it.

6mm is a big bend. I would opt for a replacement

Cheers guys, taking all the advice on board, will get some prices tomorrow for parts. Put the dial gauge on this evening turning the top tube of fork and 5.5mm out over length of top tube. Stanchion looks straight, will get it checked tomorrow. Touch wood.

I need to get a set of Honda CT90 forks straightened, bent at lower yoke, probably less difficult @ 27mm dia about 5mm offset at end.
Will try Piston Broke as fairly local.
Need to strip the forks first, currently have a new set of CG/CB125 forks (Chinese replica) fitted but they are internal sprung with more slender sliders than the external sprung CT90 forks. Was hoping the I could use the new stanchions in the old but all too different but the whole legs fit the CT90 OK.

Well have a result, spoke to one of the French lads who put me in Touch with the "Fork surgeon " who basically said old pair inoperable, and condemned them. But result, he new a chap who had got a new pair from a gasgas, which the top tubes will fit ,soooo he's doing the transplant.......happy days. Cost.......let's not go there, suffice to say bm would charge me 450euros each top tube, ouch, whole fork complete 1100euros. My minds at rest, new rebuilt forks, result, big thanks for all the response, will let you know final cost :D

That's a pisser Steve. Just a part of buying blind, I guess. Had to do it many times myself.

The good thing is now you will always know what's in your forks, when they were serviced etc etc. And once you've done your first rock step you'll know that it was money well spent.

See you Sunday for some dirt therapy.
