can anyone tell me .. my LH heated grip is colder than the RH .. I know its onto metal whereas the rh is on plastic .. but it is quite a bit `less warm` …
if I shorten the LH elec lead to it, will it get more power / hotter ?

Sounds like you fucked up the installation
Did you insulate the bar with the heat shrink provided.

When the thermostat went on my old Mum's iron, she tied a knot in the flex to slow down the electricity so as it wouldn't get too hot too quickly.

Can you carefully remove the grip Gary? Sounds like you need to puts some insulation on the bar as suggested, tape will help.
